Hi! Since the average age of my readers is about 18ish, almost everyone should kinda be in college? Apart from joining the military, gap year, apprenticeship, full-time jobs of course. Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS!! Probably doesn’t mean much coming from me lol but I’m proud of you! Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, good job! Anyways wholesomeness outta the way, I gotta ask:

TW: flashing epilepsy warning, sorry!

So obviously there are pros and cons and nuances to the question. Depending on your major you might have a huge workload that makes it almost impossible for you to do any job. Maybe you have family responsibilities or maybe you simply do not want to. On the other hand, maybe you have a relatively easy-going schedule that allows you to indulge in a lot of activities in your spare time, maybe you want an extra source of revenue to cover your student loans or maybe it’s just societal pressure to get a job! Whatever it may be, there’s a lot of stuff to consider. You should work if you need to help pay the bills. Working teaches you several good practices like time discipline. On the flip side, if you need to work to afford your partying lifestyle, don’t. If you want to take a girl out on a date and need the money, understandable but don’t. Working will detract from college time. So all things considered, I still have no idea how to answer that question, I guess it varies from scenario to scenario. Guess I’ll find out if working part-time was a good decision soon enough 😳. In any case, thank you so much for reading me ramble on and on about part time emplopyemt! Now go do that assignment you’ve been putting off for tomorrow…or go to work…or lmk ur thoughts if you’re a) rlly bored or b) wanna make me happy 🙂

  1. It’s doable but a lot of work

  2. genueinly so proud of you kazi
